Getting connected at Llano Grande or any
RV Park
-
Please note that you will need a RJ6
coaxial cable to get HD TV as well as Internet properly.
-
This type of cable is not sold at Wal
Mart, that I know of.
-
Some may need to rewire their RV from the
Bow Antenna down and install a separate plug.
-
An Easier solution is to put a new line
in. One for Internet, one for Cable and one for salelite.
-
One for the Bow antenna, One for Satellite
and one for Cable TV in a Park.
-
You get the idea.
Installation
Step One
-
Purchase enough new RJ6 cable
-
Purchase a high quality splitter. [ Not
one old and well used ]
-
Purchase a short [ 12" ] RJ6 cable to
connect to the Park TV box outlet.
Please note: The Park will provide the cable
you need and install it at 50 cents a foot. It will cost you at lease 0.75 to
$1.00 on the street and you will have to pay extra for the connectors and
installation.
So make an appointment and have them do it.
Then you own it and can use it at the next park.
Step 2
-
Connect the short RJ6 cable to the
splitter.
-
Connect your new RJ6 cable to the outside
of your RV.
-
Connect the new RJ6 cable to the remaining
connector.
-
Make sure the splitter is covered and
waterproofed at all times.
-
Feed the new cable into the RV [
Preferred: That you install a new waterproof external plug with an internal
outlet adapter.
Step 3
-
Then connect the extra new cable to you
PC.
-
Optional: You can also connect the cable
to a Wireless router and have WIFI as well.
-
Make sure your router is secure and you
have Sharing disabled.
-
A router is actually a PC with a machine
code as well.
-
Hackers can access unsecure routers.
Note: Your best internet connectivity will be
direct connecting with a "Cat 5 Ethernet" connection.
Once connected one can improve on the internet
performance by using WIFI and Direct Cable Modem - "Cat 5" connection.
This is how one does that.
-
Disconnect your Cat5 Ethernet wire from
your PC
-
Restart your PC
-
Open a browser and click on Accept
-
You are now on WIFI in the Park
-
Then just plug your Cat 5 wire into your
PC
-
If you use a USB wireless LAN adapter
booster you can connect to that is well.
This will give you a lot more reliability and
upload. May have to be reset to reconnect to WIFI. Best just to use a stable
cable connection.
